American CPT Hostage Tom Fox Murdered--March 10th

Tom was not seen in a video from the 'Swords of Righteousness Brigade' released March Seventh by Al-Jazeera. Today the FBI says that Tom was murdered. His body found shot on the streets of Baghdad.

The al Qaeda linked Army of Ansar al-Sunnah website has announced the death of Japanese hostage Akihiko Saito. The group claimed in their earlier website to have attacked his convoy on May 9th killing all civilians except Saito [earlier post here along with pics and screenshot of now defunct website]. They also had previously claimed that Saito was injured.

Terrorists take Japanese man, Akihiko Saito, hostage.

The Army of Ansar al-Sunnah claims to have taken a Japanese man hostage. The man, Akihiko Saito, is alleged by the al Qaeda linked group to have been taken from a convoy 'during a fierce battle in Western Iraq,' in what might be a reference to earlier reports of a successful U.S. attack near the Syrian border. The group also posted a photo of Akikiko Saito's passport and promised more photos would be forthcoming.

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's Al Qaeda in Iraq has posted a video at an Islamic bulletin board showing the gruesome beheading murder of an Iraqi security guard. The Jawa Report has obtained a copy of the video. Links to the video and mages from the video are posted here.

The name of the murdered victim is Jassim Mohammed Hussein Mahdi.

Iraqi Interior Ministry Official Murdered by Zarqawi on Video (Images)

The video of the murder of an Iraqi Interior Ministry official--what the MSM is calling a vidotaped 'execution'--has been posted on an Islamic bulletin board. The Jawa Report has obtained a copy of the video and will provide a link to it as soon as it is uploaded to a suitable site. Graphic images from the video are posted here.

The victim is identified as Colonel Ryad Kateh Olyway (also translitterated as Aliwi ), a liason officer for the Iraqi Interior Ministry. Olyway was kidnapped a month ago.

As in past Zarqawi snuff films, Olyway is first forced to 'confess' to the 'crime' of 'collaboration' before he is blindfolded and shot in the back of the head.

The execution of 'collaborators' is a common practice for terrorist groups and is routinely used by Palestinian, Chechen, and Kashmiri rebels. The 'collaborator' is branded an 'apostate' and then, in accordance with Islamic law, is executed. Apostasy is a capital offense under Islamic law.

The hostage is named Giuliana Sgrena and works for Rome daily Il Manifesto. She was abducted as she conducted interviews near Baghdad University.

Italian Hostage Salvatore Santoro Murdered by Terrorists in Iraq

It appears that Salvatore Santoro was only captured very recently. Reports about the Italian man going missing and reports of his death came almost simultaneously. Zaman reports that Mr. Santoro was working for a British non-governmental organization. Xinhua reports that Mr. Santoro was 52 and from the Campania region near Naples. The Islamic Movement of Iraqi Mujahidin is new to me, but could simply be another translation of The Islamic Army in Iraq which operates in Ramadi, where Mr. Santoro was taken captive.

The terrorist scumbags have murdered Margaret Hassan. Arab television network Al Jazeera announced today that it had received the videotaped execution of Margaret Hassan. Margaret Hassan was an innocent. She was in Iraq to help the people of Iraq. She worked for CARE International, an organization which opposed the UN sanctions regime against Saddam Hussein and against the US invasion. The terrorists and the terrorists alone are responsible for her death. Rest in Peace Margaret Hassan.

Taliban Threatens to Behead Female UN Worker on Video

Last week the Taliban took 3 UN election workers hostage and released a video of them pleading for their lives [earlier post here]. The hostages are Annetta Flanigan from Northern Ireland, Shqipe Hebibi from Kosovo, and Angelito Nayan from the Phillipines. I have previously noted that the deadline set by the Taliban terrorists for their demands to be met had passed. Luckily, the deadline seems to move back at a constant rate. Today, a a spokesperson for the terrorists threatened to behead Shqipe Hebibi tomorrow.

The Jawa Report notes that an Italian born aid worker named Andrea Cianferoni has been taken hostage in the Phillipines, probably by the Abu Sayyaf terrorist organization. The Abu Sayyaf jihadis are fighting for a seperate Islamic state in the Phillipines' southernmost islands. This is the same group that kidnapped American missionaries Martin and Gracia Burnham demanding millions of dollars in ransom. Martin Burnham was later killed by the terrorists during a rescue attempt.

Kenneth Bigley is confirmed dead in Iraq. Multiple sources indicate that Kenneth Bigley was executed by Musab al-Zarqawi's Tawid and Jihad terrorist organization near Baghdad today. Conflicting stories, as the news is still developing, some indicating that Kenneth Bigley was beheaded and that a beheading video will be relesed soon. May God have mercy on Bigley's soul and speed him to rest, and may God open up the heavens and rain down wrath on his murderers.

Another Turkish hostage has been beheaded by a group linked to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. The victim's name is Durmus Kumdereli. He was killed last month. What is especially odd about this is that his companion, Mustafa Koksal, was released a month ago. Why would they let one go and kill the other one?

Islamic militants in Iraq have handed over two French hostages to another guerrilla group opposed to their kidnap and murder, the editor of one of the reporters held captive says.

As hopes rose that Georges Malbrunot and Christian Chesnot could be released as soon as Friday, the Muslim day of prayer, French Foreign Minister Michel Barnier told reporters he understood the pair were "alive and getting good treatment".

Le Figaro editor Jean de Belot said on France Info radio on Thursday: "The latest information is that Christian Chesnot and Georges Malbrunot have been handed over by the Islamic Army in Iraq to an Iraqi Sunni guerrilla group... an opposition that we know for a few days now has been in favour of the release of the hostages."

12 Nepalese Hostages Killed, 1 Beheaded

In the video released by the Army of Ansar al-Sunna, one hostage is seen beheaded with a knife as he struggles with his captors. The other 11 are seen lying down, and then one by one shot in the back of the head. Nepal is not a member of the Coalition Forces nor is it involved in any way in Iraq. The twelve came to Iraq to work, nothing more. The same group has threatened to kill two French hostages if the Chirac government, which opposed the invasion of Iraq, does not lift a ban on the Islamic head-scarf in schools.

CAIRO, Egypt - Four masked, black-clad men who said they belong to a group that has claimed responsibility for kidnappings and killings in Iraq (news - web sites) beheaded a man identified only as a Bulgarian in a video posted on the Internet Monday....The militants in the video said they were from the Tawhid and Jihad group, which had claimed to have kidnapped two Bulgarian truck drivers June 29 and demanded Iraqi detainees be released in exchange for their lives.

The beheaded body of one of the drivers, Georgi Lazov, was found in the Tigris River in Iraq in mid-July and a tape was released showing his death. An announcement late last month of the discovery of a second decapitated body in an orange jumpsuit and a head in a bag near the Tigris River had prompted fears that Ivaylo Kepov too had been killed, but there was no video of his slaying.
